On behalf of the 30 professionals that make up our athletic administration and coaching staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the families, friends, faculty, staff, administration, Board of Education, alumni, and the Hardin County community for their unwavering support of our student athletes and all of our Athletic Programs.

The Athletic Program at HCHS consists of 18 sports with over 325 student athletes. These numerous choices provide the opportunity for our students to be exposed to valuable life lessons such as teamwork, self-discipline, courage, and character that can be used throughout the rest of their life. The experiences of athletic competition can teach us how to win with grace and handle defeat with dignity. The learning that takes place in our athletic programs, we believe, compliments our student athletes learning in the classroom and prepares them for life after Hardin County High School.

The conduct of our coaches, athletes, and spectators, in regard to sportsmanship and character expectations, are held to the highest level. We ask for your continued support of these standards as you interact with opposing teams, coaches, fans, and officials. Our community, student body, and booster clubs continue to play a pivotal role in providing unrelenting support, energy, and enthusiasm for our athletes and coaches. We wish to thank them for all that they do to create the most enjoyable experience for our student athletes. As a former student athlete, coach, and alumni of Hardin County High School I look forward to every athletic season and the contributions and sacrifices our student athletes make to continue our rich tradition of athletics at Hardin County High School. Once a Tiger, always a TIGER!

Matthew Smith, HCHS Athletic Director

Hardin County is proud to have a culture of excellence and tradition both athletically and academically. We are fortunate to live, work, and thrive in a small town community who rallies to support our student athletes. Our extended trophy cases throughout the halls of Hardin County High School represent the hard work and dedication of Tigers and Lady Tigers of the past. What is unique about our community is the support and attendance regardless of the current record. Game day experiences in Hardin County are a community-wide event, and our student athletes, coaches, and administration recognize it.

maroon pride

Here in Hardin County, we’re proud of all of our amazing athletes. We know that these programs teach students team work, self-discipline, courage, and character. These skills will be used throughout their lifetimes, and it’s important that we foster them on the field, or court, or wherever! We’re proud to offer athletic activities for boys and girls, and in our elementary and middle schools as well as Hardin County High School. Whether you have a student in one of our Hardin County Schools or are a community member interested in showing that Maroon Pride, we hope you’ll find the information you need about athletic teams and events. We appreciate everyone who supports our hard-working students!
